🐾 Tails of the World: The Final Chapter from Tampa Bay
Stories of strength, joy, and everlasting connection
As this year’s Tails of the World project draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible souls who stepped in front of my camera. Each of them had a story — some of resilience, some of glamour, and all of deep love. It was an honor to capture their spirits and contribute to a global initiative raising funds for rescues around the world.
For Tampa Bay, we partnered with All Hound Rescue of Florida, and these portraits helped raise awareness and donations for dogs still waiting for their forever families. Let me introduce you to the final five dogs who made this project unforgettable.
🦴 Raleigh Roo – Pure Grit, Pure Joy
This spirited tripod may only have three legs, but he’s got more heart than most. After being returned to the shelter as a puppy with two broken legs, Raleigh Roo lost one limb and had the other reconstructed — but he never lost his zest for life.
Now, he chases waves, climbs palm trees, and fulfills his duties as Certified Squirrel Patrol with unstoppable passion (and speeds up to 24 mph!). Roo’s energy is pure light, and his session was filled with sunshine, motion, and magic. He is the definition of resilience, wrapped in fur.
👑 Noel – Model, Muse, and Rescue Advocate
Noel isn’t just a pretty face — though he wears a crown with ease. This handsome 3-year-old pup is a certified showstopper who uses his charm for good. From modeling for rescue fundraisers to advancing through acting classes, Noel is always camera-ready — and heart-forward.
But what makes him truly special is the way he welcomes every foster dog into his home, becoming a comforting, playful presence to those in need of healing. His Tails of the World session shimmered with personality, compassion, and more than a little sparkle.
💙 Jordy – Wheels of Wonder
Jordy’s joy is infectious. Though he moves through the world on wheels, nothing slows him down — not in spirit, and certainly not in love. Every image we created together radiated warmth and connection.
Whether chasing light on the beach or curled up with his beloved mom, Jordy reminded me that happiness isn’t about what holds you back — it’s about who holds your heart. His portrait session was pure joy in motion.
🐾 Monty – Dignity and Devotion
Monty carried himself with quiet wisdom. There was a regal stillness to him — not distant, but deeply present. His gaze said everything: loyalty, history, and unconditional love. His family described him as their steady soul, and during our session, that energy came through in every frame. He was the kind of dog you feel even in silence.
🐾 Misha & Lily – My Forever Inspiration
Of course, I couldn’t close this chapter without including my own pups — my girls, my muses, my heartbeats. Photographing them for this project was both beautiful and bittersweet. Misha and Lily have shaped my entire photographic journey and filled my life with love and meaning.
This session, in particular, felt like an offering — to them, to myself, and to the mission I believe in: preserving the love we share with our animals in timeless art.
📷 One Project, Endless Love
Tails of the World isn’t just a collaboration among global photographers. It’s a celebration of dogs who’ve changed lives. It’s a way to give back. And it’s a reminder that every soul we photograph is a legacy waiting to be honored.
Thank you to all the families who trusted me with these stories. Thank you to All Hound Rescue of Florida for their tireless work. And thank you to the pups — for every tail wag, soulful stare, and lick of love.
This chapter may close, but the stories live on.
With all my heart,
Helga
