Sometimes the intention is already there, even before anything begins.
When this lady signed up for the Gulfport Get Rescued Giveaway, she had just seen the artwork and immediately knew what she wanted. Something like this for her dog, Max. A way to preserve him as he is right now.
Max happens to be in his senior years, and there’s a certain depth that comes with that kind of love. A quiet tenderness. An awareness that time feels different.
She was lucky enough to win the giveaway, which included a portrait session and Signature Float. Together, we created something that holds onto this chapter in a way that feels lasting and real.
Max’s session was approached with care and patience.
Nothing forced. Nothing rushed. Just space for him to settle, to connect, and to be fully himself.
One of the most meaningful moments to capture was the way he looks up at his person. Soft, trusting, completely present. The kind of expression that says everything without needing a single word. That became his Signature Float. Not just a portrait, but a reflection of who he is.
They also knew they wanted to include their other dog Elsa in the session. She is part of this story too, and it mattered to capture her in this same honest, timeless way.
The original plan was to create one finished piece.
But after seeing their images, it became clear that one wasn’t enough to hold both of them.
So they chose to add a second Signature Float, allowing each dog to have their own space on the wall, while still telling one shared story.
Together, these pieces reflect more than how they look. They hold onto a feeling. A connection. A moment in time that deserves to be remembered.
It’s also the difference between images that quietly live on a phone and artwork that becomes part of your everyday life. Something you pass by without thinking, and then suddenly pause. Something that brings you back, again and again, without having to go looking for it.
