Finding the Right Forever Home: Meet Timber, Atlas, and Brookie
All three of these dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and have had basic foundation training. Like most intelligent, confident dogs, they will thrive with continued leash training and structured guidance in public settings. What they offer in return is loyalty, affection, and a deep bond with their people.
These are not “blank slate” puppies — they are fully formed souls looking for homes that appreciate their unique personalities.
🐾 Timber — The Loyal Guardian with a Goofy Heart
Age: 3 years old this spring
Weight: ~80 lbs
Timber is the kind of dog who makes you feel safe — and loved — at the same time.
He is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal, with a strong sense of routine. Timber thrives when he knows what to expect from his day and from his people. Once bonded, he is a true protector of his home and property, naturally alert and attentive without being chaotic.
Good with:
- Children
- Cats
- Most dogs, especially females (he is selective with male dogs his own size)
Timber would do best in a home that values consistency and structure, where his natural guarding instincts are respected and guided. He is affectionate with his people and enjoys being part of daily life rather than an afterthought.
Ideal home:
A family or individual who appreciates a dog that is both playful and protective, and who can continue reinforcing leash manners and confidence in public settings.
🐾 Atlas — The Intelligent Adventurer with a Gentle Soul
Age: 3 years old in February
Weight: ~70 lbs
Atlas is a rare dog — emotionally intuitive, highly intelligent, and endlessly loving.
He has already passed a standardized PAT behavioral evaluation for potential PTSD service work, demonstrating exceptional temperament and awareness. Atlas can recognize chemical stress hormones, making him a strong candidate for advanced training with the right handler.
Personality highlights:
- Goofy, playful, and affectionate
- Exceptionally adaptable
- Loves adventures, water, and new experiences
- Learns extremely fast and understands both verbal commands and hand signals
Atlas grew up with young children (ages 2 and 5) and adores kids. He is excellent with other dogs and cats, making him a wonderful multi-pet household candidate.
While he has the foundation for service or therapy work, Atlas will need dedicated follow-through training to reach that potential. Even without that path, he is an outstanding companion dog with emotional depth and intelligence.
Ideal home:
An active family or individual who enjoys outings, enrichment, and meaningful bonding. Atlas is the dog who wants to experience life with you.
🐾 Brookie — The Sweet Caretaker with a Watchful Eye
Age: 3 years old this spring
Brookie is gentle, affectionate, and quietly confident.
She has a natural caretaker personality, often watching over other animals and staying emotionally attuned to her surroundings. Brookie is playful and curious, always interested in exploring the world around her, whether on walks or in the backyard.
Good with:
- Children
- Dogs
- Cats
Brookie spent several months in a foster home, where she proved herself to be a reliable guard dog, alerting and warning appropriately when something felt off. She does the same in her current environment — protective without being reactive.
She enjoys walks, exploration, and connection, and would thrive in a home that allows her to balance gentle affection with purpose.
Ideal home:
A family looking for a loving, observant dog who bonds deeply and takes her role as protector seriously while still being sweet and playful.
Training & Adoption Notes
All three dogs:
- Are spayed/neutered
- Are up to date on vaccinations
- Have basic training foundations
- Will benefit from continued leash training and public exposure
These dogs are best suited for adopters who understand that great dogs are made through partnership, not perfection.
A Final Note
Adopting an adult dog means skipping the guesswork — their personalities are already there, waiting to be appreciated. Timber, Atlas, and Brookie each bring something special: loyalty, emotional intelligence, protection, playfulness, and heart.
